Let me know if this sounds familiar…
You plan a huge exciting road trip, organize activities, pack all your favorite outfits and you are ready to have an amazing time, until…
The weather is not what you expected at all and none of your outfits are appropriate for your outdoor plans.
Packing clothing that isn’t “weather friendly” may not seem like the end of the world…
But trust me, being too hot or too cold can really put a downer on your vacation experience.
Let Me Tell You a Story
I went to a family event a few weeks ago that was a 5-hour drive away from my house.
Not even thinking about it I assumed the weather would be the same as it was at home, which was around 17 degrees celsius.
Since I was only going away for 24 hours I wanted to pack as lightly as possible.
What I Packed
Clothing wise all I packed were comfy car clothing, pajamas, and 2 dresses for the event.
Going into the trip I was very confident with my packing choices, but oh was I surprised when I actually arrived.
I Was Wrong
The weather was nowhere near as nice as it was at home and I was freezing!!! Yes, those 3 exclamation marks were necessary.
I can accept responsibility and admit it was my own fault for not looking into the weather properly.
You know what they say, you live and learn right.
The point of my story is I don’t want you to make the same mistake I did.
I recently got introduced to a new weather app and I just had to share it with you.
1 – year ad-free subscription of $3.99 or if you can keep it 100% free with the ads in.
- Lightning alerts
- Traffic conditions
- Apple watch support
- Lifestyle forecasts
I personally prefer only having apps on my phone I actually use on a regular basis.
Even if you have a large amount of storage it is easy to fill it up!
Especially if you have a lot of songs and podcasts like I do.
In the past 6 months or so I got rid of about half the apps I didn’t absolutely love and have only downloaded new ones I feel really benefit me.
If you ask me, this app is worth having.
When you have a road trip planned it can be really hard to plan accordingly for the weather and overall be a smart packer.
The app gives you the option to add multiple locations and save them in order to easily find weather updates in various locations.
Let’s say you are going on a road trip and have 3 destinations planned. I would recommend going to the app, adding all three locations, checking the weather and pack accordingly.
I don’t know about you but in the warmer months I assume the weather will be perfect, but as I recently learned from my road trip that is not true!
Yup, I can hear you gasping through the computer.
We can have the debate whether (did you catch that pun?) smartphones and apps are beneficial in our lives or not.
In my opinion, if an app or any piece of technology can provide you with valuable information that would have been very difficult finding on your own it is definitely worth it.
What Are Your Thoughts?
