The Basic Rules of Brush Cleaning

How long does it take you to clean your brushes?

How often do you clean them?

Questions I’m always wondering about and comparing myself to. When it comes to brush cleaning, it can be an absolute chore.

Who wants to stand at the bathroom sink for an hour scrubbing the hell out of your nice, well invested in brushes?

Say no more, I totally agree!

I don’t have time to stand for hours cleaning my brushes, so, like everyone, I leave them for as long as I can (Which probably every beauty blogger is going oh god no why! Think of the bacteria!).

That was until I came across the Makeup Revolution and their solid brush cleaner!

This solid block is my life saver!

My standing at the sink time is halved!

By simply just running the pot under the tap and swishing my brush around for a few minutes, everything just disappears, before swirling them around on a towel to dry them.

They are left smelling so fresh and clean! What’s not to love?

I do also try and do a big cleanse every so often but I do often forget, which is why this little piece of kit is so perfect for me!

The packaging is pretty plain but who cares, right?

As long as it does the job! There is so much product in there I can see it lasting a lifetime.

It retails at just £5 (crazy!) and can be purchased here or take a peek in your nearest Superdrug if you’re in the UK!

Tip: It’s recommended to wash your brushes every 2-4 weeks, and then give them a deep cleanse every 2-3 months.

Just think of all the bacteria that could be added to your face if putting dirty brushes on it!

Another tip: ensure your brushes are places downwards when drying, as it allows the water to come out of the bristles rather than go down and loosen the glue, which won’t make them last as long!

I don’t know about you but I’m off to clean my brushes!

How often do you clean your brushes? What do you use? Let us know in the comments!
