The Foundation Trick To Cure Smile Lines

Guest post by Tanya Lua

My beauty “problem” is my smile lines.

My foundation always creases into those lines – not a cute look! I swear I had tried just about everything; I tried various foundation finishes, smoothing primers, baking, mixing with moisturizer, etc.

Even though laugh lines aren’t the end of the world, it was really bothering me and I was determined to find a solution that worked because all the other methods wouldn’t work or wouldn’t last.

The trick? OIL.

Now, please don’t mix cooking oil with your foundation, but find a good quality facial oil, like this Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse.

I put 1-2 pumps of my favorite foundation (Estee Lauder Double Wear in Spiced Sand) on the back of my hand and then splash in 1 drop of the facial oil. For the application, my personal preference was my “multi-purpose” dense, flat top brush that I used to stipple on the foundation.

I found that this brush gave me the most ‘flawless’ finish over other brushes and sponges.

I do have combination skin so I take extra care to set my foundation with my current favorite powder: Maybelline FitMe Matte & Poreless in 330.

If you tend to get shiny, I would say that a setting powder is a MUST, but you probably already knew that.

If you have dry skin or love a more dewy finish, you can get away with a light dusting to keep your foundation in place all day.

Right: Makeup was done, flawless foundation.

I swear that this quick and easy solution has made all the difference in my foundation routine.

I even get more compliments on my makeup since I started doing this and I feel much more confident putting my best face forward.

If you want to try a facial oil, I definitely recommend the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse.

It retails for approximately $30, which is steep, but when you’re only using 1-2 drops a day for the foundation it will last a very long time. There’s also so many other uses for this dry oil in your skin/hair care routine that you can try out too!
